Introduction

Intro:

Hi my name is Bob, and I just recently purchased a Cannon Powershot G1X. The point of this blog is to record my trials and usage of this wonderful device. I don't know much about photography, so this going to be a lot of trial and error. Hopefully I'll learn something, and maybe you will too.

A little bit about me:

I have been a resident of Virginia for about 3.5 years. While living down here, I became an avid hiker of the Appalachian Mountains. Wanting to show off they're great beauty to friends and family back home in PA, I decided to buy a cheap little point and shoot camera to take pictures of my various adventures. After several years of hiking and using the Cannon Powershot A3000 IS, I decided it was time to move up in the camera world. After many upon many reviews, I decided that for what I wanted the Cannon Powershot G1X should be might next investment.
 

About the Blog:

So, after purchasing my new camera, I realized that I had no clue how to use. I mean, I knew I could use it like my old one, by using the preset functions and auto setup. But, that wouldn't let me use the full potential of this device. I also realized that there a thousands of reviews for this camera, but very tiny amount of information on using it. I hoping that this blog will not only document my trials and errors with using this camera (and photography in general), but that it will also attract the advice and knowledge of more experienced photographers. Anyways enjoy my thoughts, and enjoy the fun.
